For them are glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter

  • Fourth Question

  • 171

By the sun and its growing brightness,

  • 171

And by the moon when it follows it (the sun),

  • 171

And by the day when it reveals its glory,

  • 171

And by the night when it draws a veil over it,

  • 171

And by the soul and its perfection —

  • 171

And He revealed to it what is wrong for it and what is right for it —

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it.

  • 171

The tribe of Thamud denied the truth because of their rebelliousness.

  • 171

When the most wretched among them got up,

  • 171

Then the Messenger of Allah said, ‘Leave alone the she-camel of Allah, and let her drink.’

  • 171

But they rejected him and hamstrung her,

  • 172
